John Baxter (1828 – 1910)
John and his family left Suffolk on board the Sea King, bound for Australia on the 20th February, 1855 arriving on the 16th May, 1855. The family settled in Geelong, Victoria. John set up a sawmill on Western beach which he later moved to Hope Street, Geelong West.

John married Rhoda Barber (1825 – 1916) the daughter of John Barber and Rhoda Carter, in 1847.
